Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
We work alongside your choice of bricks and mortar vets. Let us know which vets you are with when you register and we will contact them for your pets history.
We can treat a great deal of things from the comfort of your home. If we think that you require to be seen by your usual vets we will let you know prior to booking an appointment with us.

How do I book an appointment?
Please use our online form or send us an email. We aim to respond within 48hrs and will book an appointment time which suits you. We will send you a message or email 30 minutes prior to your appointment to confirm we are on our way.

Can you still carry out a thorough examination in my home?
Yes! For dogs we request them to be on a lead and away from other pets. For cats we advise using a secure room (with minimal hiding places!).

My pet is very nervous with normal vet visits, is there anything we can do to reduce stress?
Yes! Our vet can arrange a virtual consultation with you prior to the visit, if necessary we can prescribe medications to ease any stress. We care about the welfare of your pets, therefore we resevere the right to stop the consultation at any time if safety of pets or staff is a concern.

Why are your consult prices higher than my normal vets?
We don't like time pressures, therefore each appointment is given up to 1 hour (rather than 10-15 minutes usually given in a surgery). We appreciate vets costs are increasing due to multiple factors. At Iris Vets we like to keep costs of medications down, therefore despite our higher initial consult fee, you might find medications to work out at a better cost.

Do you accept insurance?
Due to us being a small independent company we can only accept indirect claims. These are where you pay upfront and claim back from the insurance company. We can help you fill these forms out and send them off.
